How to Use Hi-Resolution Graphics Mode

* R2Loader now supports High Resolution display mode upto 1366 * 768 by proprietary technique.
But this feature is working only in D2X2 Server.
There are 2 ways to define the actual resolution you want to use from 800 * 600 to 1366 * 768 as follows:

1. Defining your default value for common use:

In C3PO.ini in your C3PO folder, you will find

HiResolX=1152 ;800 < value <= 1366
HiResolY=640 ;600 <= value <= 768

You can change the values to any values in proper range.
Then they will be used as your common and default Hi-Resolution.

2. Defining a different resolution for each D2 instance:

In you C3PO's Launch List, you can give a different resolution option for each D2 instance in the list.
In 'Other Options' column, you can add like: -xs 1024 -ys 620 to set 1024 * 620, for example.

* R2Loader is also supports correct maximized window mode in Hi Resolution wide screen mode.

* How to Setup and Use Hi Resolution mode in Full Screen mode

From V4.08, R2Loader starts to support 2D, 3D and Glide Full Screen Hi Resolution mode.
Here's tip how to utilize them:

1. Glide mode is recommended first, and 3D for next and then 2D mode.

2. Glide mode is actually a pretty much old technology (Win98 era) and it only can be found in old VooDoo graphic cards.
It is, however, faster than Direct3D and it supports perspective mode.
So, if your graphic card has Glide mode capability, then I recommend to use this mode.

3. If you don't have any graphic card with Glide mode enabled but you want to use this mode, you can use a Glide mode simulator!
Actually the simulator uses OpenGL to implement Glide mode commands, it is still pretty much fast (I think it's faster than Direct3D mode).
I attached a 3rd party simulator which performs perfectly for Diablo 2, so please try this out.
Don't forget to run D2VidTest.exe after you copy glide3x.dll into your D2 folder.

4. Most of graphic cards' native resolution modes are pretty much limited for Diablo 2 to use.
Because the D2 Hi-Resolution mode supports only upto 1366x768, and higher than that is not really recommended for performance and game play reason.
So, the actually selections are very few, like: 1024x768[4:3], 1280x720[16:9] or 1366x768[16:9].
These may be good enough for you, but you can add more selections like:
1064x600, 1136x640 or 1208x680 for [16:9]
960x600, 1024x640, 1088x680, 1228x720 or 1152x768 for [16:10]
856x640, 908x680 or 960x720 [4:3]

5. How to add tose custom resolution to your graphic card?
For NVIDIA, go to NVIDIA Control Panel and selet Change Resolution menu. Then you will find [Customize...] button there.
For ATI, I don't have any info as for now, because I don't have this card, but there must be the similar menu.
One important thing you need to keep in mind when you add custom resolutions is: color depth (BitPerPixel) for DirectDraw(2D) and Glide is 8 BPP and Direct3D is 16 BPP.

6. After you add those custom resolutions (optional), just press launch button for FullScreen D2 on C3PO.
Then you will get "Select Hi-Resolution for Full Screen" dialog box popped.
Check if all the custom resolutions you added are listed in there.
Select one you want and press OK. That's it.

7. Enjoy!
